Las Vegas police looking for suspect in armed robbery

Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in an armed robbery earlier this month.

About 8:15 p.m. on Aug. 1, a man robbed a convenience store near Lake Mead Boulevard and Sloan Lane, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

“During the robbery the suspect entered the store, produced a handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded the money from the cash register,” Metro said in a news release.

The clerk complied, and the man took the money and left the business on foot, police said.

Metro described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build.

He was wearing a black doo rag on his head, black T- shirt, black shorts and black shoes.

Anyone with information regarding this event can contact Metro’s robbery section at 702-828-3591, or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
