Las Vegas police searching for suspects involved in cab robbery

Las Vegas police are looking for suspects involved in a cab robbery last week.

Around 2 a.m. May 27, officers responded to the Katie Court Apartments at 3890 Cambridge St. near East Twain Avenue to investigate a reported robbery.

A taxicab driver had picked up two men from a gas station in the 2900 block of East Tropicana Boulevard and driven them to the Katie Court Apartments. When the cab arrived at the complex, the passengers exited without paying. The driver confronted them and one passenger grabbed a small-frame handgun and pistol-whipped him, police said.

The men then robbed the driver, taking his wallet, police said. They were last seen running from the area.

One suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, standing about 6-foot-4 and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants and a blue-and-yellow baseball cap. The second suspect, also a black man in his 20s, stands about 5-foot-4 tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue Nike T-shirt, bluejeans and a blue bandanna, police said.

Anyone with information on the suspects’ whereabouts can call Metro 702-828-8639 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
