Police need help finding man in armed robberies in Las Vegas Valley

North Las Vegas and Las Vegas police are investigating a series of armed robberies and need the public’s help locating the culprit.

At least five robberies with a similar method of operation and description of the robber were committed Sunday night and Monday morning.

The robber threatened the women and took their purses, both police departments said.

He is a black man armed with a handgun, Metro officer Larry Hadfield said.

The first robbery happened Sunday at 10 p.m. at a 7-Eleven located at 810 E. Lake Mead Blvd. near Las Vegas Boulevard, according to North Las Vegas police.

The robber struck again a few miles away at 10:53 p.m. at the Walmart located at 3950 W. Lake Mead Blvd. near Rancho Drive, North Las Vegas spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said.

About 30 minutes later, another woman was robbed about 1 mile away near Simmons Street and Coran Lane.

Four miles away at an apartment complex at 2500 N. Rainbow Blvd., near Smoke Ranch Road, the robber victimized another woman about 11:50 p.m., Hadfield said.

The final robbery happened at another Walmart, 1807 W. Craig Road, about 12:15 a.m. Monday, Cavaricci said.

“We really want to catch this guy,” she added.
