Robbery leads to 11-year sentence for Las Vegas man

A Las Vegas man will serve 11 years in prison after holding an elderly store owner at gunpoint and stealing more than $40,000 in collectible coins with a co-conspirator, the U.S. Department of Justice said Thursday.

Noah P. Fields, 23, pleaded guilty to a late 2016 robbery at Fremont Coin Company, 3375 Glen Ave., near East Sahara Avenue and Boulder Highway, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

In the plea agreement, Fields admits that he held the shop’s 90-year-old owner and a customer at gunpoint while a co-conspirator stole $3,500 in cash and more than $40,000 of coins, silver and gold, the Justice Department said.

Fields’ convictions include one count of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of use of a firearm.

Metropolitan Police Department records reveal that another set of robbers targeted the same coin shop in June of this year.

Emmanuel Maybon, 33, was charged with attempted murder and burglary charges after holding a knife to the same elderly store owner and kicking him in the arms and chest, records show.

The store owner did not suffer major injuries or require hospitalization, even though attempted murder charges were applied, according to arrest reports.

There is no indication in the report that the two robberies are related.
