Las Vegas police are investigating a convenience store robbery in the east Las Vegas Valley early Tuesday morning.

Metro set up a perimeter near an apartment complex near Pecos Road and Owens Avenue around 7 a.m., Metro Lt. Sean McNulty said.

Robbery detectives are on scene and the suspect is in custody, McNulty said.

A Las Vegas man indicted in a scheme to steal $7 million in U.S. Treasury checks in Utah was arrested over the weekend in Lyon County, Nevada, a federal prosecutor said Monday.
