Teenage girls rob 7-Eleven near E. Washington, Pecos at knifepoint

Two teenage girls, one as young as 13, robbed an east valley 7-Eleven at knifepoint just before midnight Tuesday.

One of the teenage girls entered the convenience store, at 903 N. Pecos Road, near Washington Avenue, followed by the other, police said.

Armed with a large knife, one girl demanded money from the register, while the other girl grabbed merchandise, Metro spokesman Michael Rodriguez said.

The girls fled the 7-Eleven with merchandise and an unknown amount of money. They were seen running into a neighborhood east of the business.

The 13-year-old was later taken into custody, Rodriguez said.

Police believe there were four teenage boys acting as lookouts during the armed robbery.
