2 face charges in connection with central Las Vegas shooting

Las Vegas police arrested two men Wednesday in connection with a robbery and shooting in the central valley.

Jim Hood and Isaiah Matthias, both 19, were arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting, jail records show. They were both booked into the Clark County Detention Center on robbery, battery and kidnapping charges.

Police said a man was shot in the leg Monday night after another man offered to buy a necklace from him and led him to an apartment complex at 6666 W. Washington Ave., near Rainbow Boulevard.

When they arrived at the apartment complex, police said, someone drew a gun, stole the man’s necklace and then shot him. Police said a third man might have been involved, but were unsure what role he played in the shooting, if any.

The man who was shot was hospitalized, but his injury was not life-threatening.
