2nd person arrested after central Las Vegas 7-Eleven shooting

A second person was arrested following a Sunday night shooting in the central valley.

Las Vegas police documents identified Lushana McKee, in her mid-30s, as a second suspect in the shooting outside the 7-Eleven at 901 N. Rancho Drive, near Washington Avenue.

She was booked Monday into the Clark County Detention Center on counts of conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to discharge a gun within a prohibited area, booking records show.

The Metropolitan Police Department also arrested 18-year-old Roman McKee-Roberts after the shooting. He faces charges of attempted murder, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and discharging a gun within a prohibited area.

Just before 7 p.m. Sunday, McKee-Roberts shot at another man, later identified as Ricardo Kimbro-Sambrano, in the 7-Eleven parking lot, an arrest report shows.

McKee told police that Roman McKee-Roberts is her son, and that her other son and sister-in-law were also present during the incident.

The incident occurred when a woman, who McKee told police is her sister-in-law, fought with Kimbro-Sambrano’s girlfriend inside the 7-Eleven. McKee and Kimbro-Sambrano tried to stop the fight and moved it to the parking lot outside, the arrest report said.

Kimbro-Sambrano told police he felt threatened when one of the women shouted the name of a Blood gang known for being violent, Piru, and retrieved a handgun from his car. McKee-Roberts also retrieved a handgun from the driver’s side of another car, the arrest report said.

The two fired several rounds at each other, with McKee-Roberts shooting from a white Jeep while his mother drove away.

Both McKee and her son told police that they fled the scene because they felt as if they were being chased.

During the exchange, another man — who police said appeared to be homeless — was injured in the crossfire. He was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
