Teen fatally shot in East Las Vegas identified

The Clark County coroner Monday identified the teen who died after a fight that escalated into a shooting Sunday morning.

Police found Benjamin Andre Soley, 17, of Las Vegas, dead next to a vehicle in an apartment complex. He was shot multiple times after a short conversation turned into a shooting.

Officers responded to the 4500 block of Carriage Park Drive, near Mountain Vista Street and East Vegas Valley Drive, around 3:45 a.m. after reports of a shooting. Arriving officers found Soley with apparent gunshot wounds next to a vehicle at an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Wheelwright Drive.

Medical personnel pronounced Soley dead on the scene. A preliminary investigation shows Soley was inside his vehicle with three other people when they were approached by three unknown black men, police said.

All three suspects fled the scene, police said. The homicide appears to be narcotics-related, and suspects have not been apprehended as of Monday evening, police said.
