Man seeking sex at Las Vegas hotel gets stabbed instead

Updated August 23, 2017 - 7:29 pm

A man looking for casual sex at a Las Vegas hotel got robbed and stabbed in the face instead Monday night, police documents show.

The Metropolitan Police Department responded just after 11 p.m. to the Wild Wild West to reports of a stabbing. Officers found the man, who had a 2-inch stab wound on his jaw, an arrest report taken that night shows.

The man told officers he was at the hotel to meet a woman he had been texting from an advertisement on Craigslist’s “Casual Encounters” page, where people search for casual sex.

When he arrived at the hotel, he said, he went to the woman’s room. A man with an 8-inch knife left the bathroom, the victim told police. At the same time, another man, whom authorities identified as Michael Sean Gueso-Victor, entered the room with a police-style baton, the report said.

The victim told police both men demanded money and searched his pockets, according to the report. They took his wallet, a chain necklace and his cellphone, he told police. As the men were robbing the victim, Gueso-Victor punched him in the head and hit his left knee with the baton, according to the police report.

When the men saw the victim had no money, Gueso-Victor blocked the doorway and told the victim to call a friend to bring money, according to the report. The victim told the men he would get money from an ATM in the casino, the victim told police.

Gueso-Victor put the victim in a headlock and began walking him out of the hotel room, according to the report. When they were a few steps outside the door, the unidentified man stabbed the victim once on the right side of his jaw, according to the report. The stabber and the woman left the scene in an SUV, the report said.

After the stabbing, Gueso-Victor threw the victim’s phone and began running, the report said. The victim picked up his phone and called police as he followed the man, the report said.

When police arrived, the victim identified Gueso-Victor in the hotel’s courtyard, the report said. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Gueso-Victor’s phone number matched the number in the Craigslist ad, the report said. The 28-year-old was booked into county jail and is being held without bail. He faces charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, first-degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon and battery with substantial bodily harm, jail records show.
