A man was stabbed multiple times in the west valley Monday afternoon.
The stabbing happened about 6:25 p.m. near the Jiffy Lube at 3420 S. Rainbow Blvd, just northeast of the Spring Mountain Road intersection, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Kendall Bell said.
Before the stabbing, a man with a knife confronted another man in the parking lot between the Jiffy Lube and Chaser’s Pub, then stabbed him multiple times, Bell said. The suspect fled but was arrested soon after.
The man stabbed was taken to University Medical Center’s trauma unit with life-threatening injuries.
It was unclear Monday night whether the man stabbed knew the suspect, whom police had not yet named. It was also unclear what the initial confrontation was about.
Metro was still investigating.
