Woman arrested after stabbing, barricade in northwest Las Vegas valley

An hourslong barricade situation stemming from a domestic-related stabbing Monday morning in the northwest valley ended with an arrest, Las Vegas police said.

Metropolitan Police Department officers were initially dispatched about 10:30 a.m. for a woman who was stabbed at a 6400 block of Little Pine Way home, near North Torrey Pines Drive and West Smoke Ranch Road.

The woman had moderate stab wounds, and as of 4 p.m. she had been stabilized at a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

When officers responded, the suspect in the stabbing — also a woman — barricaded herself inside the Little Pine home for a few hours. Police tried to negotiate with the woman, but she was uncooperative.

About 4 p.m., the suspect was taken into custody without injury.

Police did not yet release the name of the woman arrested, who faces charges related to the stabbing.
