Woman slashed with knife in downtown Las Vegas robbery

A woman was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a man attacked her with a knife and robbed her downtown.

Just after 1 a.m. police received reports of a woman bleeding from cuts on her arms and hands at a downtown 7-Eleven, according to Metropolitan Police Lt. David Gordon.

The woman, who is in her 60s, told police she was approached by a man in the 1300 block of Stewart Avenue. The man started slashing her with a knife and took her purse before he fled the scene, Gordon said.

She was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Gordon said. The robber is still at large.
