Donny and Marie to join cast at Madame Tussauds

Starting next year, Donny and Marie Osmond will have a new gig on the Strip.

Or at least their likenesses will.

The Flamingo headliners will be the first new figures added at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas in 2016, according to the wax attraction.

For their figures, the brother and sister duo spent more than three hours each sitting for the Tussauds studio team, which took about 300 measurements.

Those measurements were used to hand-sculpt clay figures, which then were covered in plaster casts. After the clay was removed, wax was poured in and allowed to cool.

In the next few weeks, Tussauds team members will insert hair strands, by hand, before the Donny and Marie figures are fitted with acrylic eyes and gleaming teeth. Layers of tinted paint, meanwhile, will build up skin tone and replicate their faces.

Photos of the Osmond siblings' sittings will be released in November; until then, we'll have to make do with photos of the real Donny and Marie, who join Lady Gaga, the "Hangover" cast, Spider-Man and other characters, real and imaginary, at Madame Tussauds, on the Strip in front of The Venetian.
