First Friday to feature holiday shopping bazaar, Winter Wonderland and more

The monthly First Friday arts festival returns from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday to the 18b Las Vegas Arts District. For more information, visit firstfridaylasvegas.com. Many area galleries plan exhibits opening Friday, and several are also open for preview Thursday. Activities and exhibits include:

A Holiday Shopping Bazaar featuring handcrafted gifts is scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at Casino Center Boulevard and Colorado Avenue. Organizers plan a winter wonderland with carolers, sleigh rides and snow.

The Arts District hub near Casino Center Boulevard and Colorado Avenue is set to welcome the U.S. Marines collecting Toys for Tots in a Humvee. Social Paintbrush is set to give free painting lessons from 7 to 8 p.m., and The Art of Law plans a free seminar on basic legal issues for artists inside a tent on the corner of Casino Center Boulevard and California Avenue . 

The Kid Zone on Casino Center Boulevard north of Colorado Avenue is set to feature Garehime Elementary School students selling crafts, a Roos-N-More petting zoo and interactive art projects by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas.

303 North Studio inside The Arts Factory, 104 E. Charleston Blvd., plans to open the exhibit "Crass Doesn't Sell," photographs by Brent Holmes, Thursday.

The Trifecta Gallery inside the Arts Factory is set to display "Second Sight," by the PRISMA Artist Collective, Thursday through Dec. 24. Visit trifectagallery.com.

Open Air Printers, 1039 S. Main St., plans an open house, printing demonstrations and a holiday sale on prints Friday. Visit goldwellmuseum.org.

Blackbird Studios, 1551 S. Commerce St., is to be transformed into an enchanted forest for "Grimm," a group show inspired by fairy tales slated to run Thursday through Dec. 28. Visit blackbirdstudioslv.com.

The City of the World Gallery's "Joy: What Brings Joy?" exhibit is set to open at 6 p.m. Thursday, with an artist reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Visit cityoftheworld.org.

A. Stein Arts, a pop-up gallery inside The Arts Factory, is scheduled to feature "Dynamic Contemplation" Thursday and Friday. Visit asteinarts.com.

Lindzay Green, Gina Grillo, Renee Smith, Alice O'Keefe, Kim Daoust and Briana Tiberti are slated to participate in a "2012 Women In Design" exhibit sponsored by COLAB studio in Art Square, 1025 S. First St. The exhibit is set to run Thursday through at least the end of January. Visit colablv.org.
