Shakespeare company offers its take on ‘Cinderella

The Las Vegas Shakespeare Company presents performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein's adaptation of "Cinderella" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and again on April 20 and 21, and 7 p.m. Sunday and April 22 at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, in Henderson.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Henderson Pavilion box office, online at HendersonLive.com or by calling 267-4849.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of Rodgers and Hammerstein's made-for-television musical "Cinderella," the first of its kind.

Staying true to the original rags-to-riches story, "Cinderella" premiered in 1957 to the biggest television audience at that time. The Emmy-nominated production starred up-and-comer Julie Andrews. The musical has been re-created many times for broadcast and stage.

The show is recommended for all ages.
