Shakespeare on the Lake series begins

Wherefore art thou Romeo? He's at the lake.

The Lakeside Theatre to be exact.

The Las Vegas Shakespeare Company and Garfield's Restaurant open the Shakespeare on the Lake series at 7 p.m. today at the Lakeside Theatre, 2620 Regatta Drive, in Desert Shores.

The Shakespeare on the Lake season features " Shakespeare's Roses," a 90-minute one-man show which takes a look into the emotions of a very human Shakespeare; a special adaptation of "Hamlet"; and "A Taste of Shakespeare," a compilation of four Shakespeare classics distilled into 20-minute performances of " Romeo & Juliet," "Much Ado About Nothing," "Macbeth" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

The season runs Fridays through Sundays through Feb. 27, holidays excepted, with each play performed every weekend.

Tickets are $40, $50 for two, and $20 each for three or more seniors over 55, students with ID, and active military. To purchase tickets, visit www.lvshakes.org/tickets or call 220-5872 or 925-8333.
