McClinton says Simpson knew he had a gun

A witness in the O.J. Simpson robbery-kidnapping trial said this morning that he didn't mention a gun on a secret recording because Simpson knew he had used one.

"He knew I had a gun," Michael McClinton testified in District Court.

Simpson lawyer Gabriel Grasso spent the morning picking apart McClinton's recording, made hours after the Palace Station holdup of two sports memorabilia dealers, pointing out what he believed were inconsistencies between his interpretation of the recording and that of Las Vegas police.

Simpson and co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart face armed robbery, kidnapping and other charges in connection with the September 2007 incident. McClinton pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and agreed to testify.
