NFL TRADE DAMPENS ROMO-SIMPSON VEGAS WEEKEND

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and girlfriend Jessica Simpson had a sad twist to their weekend Vegas getaway.

They were in town to attend the retirement/birthday party of Romo's teammate Marco Rivera, a former offensive guard with the Cowboys.

Backup tight end Anthony Fasano and first-team tight end Jason Whitten had just joined Romo and Simpson for cocktails and bowling on Friday in the Hard Rock Hotel penthouse when Fasano was informed of the trade.

Fasano received a group hug, we're told. Fasano and linebacker Akin Ayodele were sent to Miami for a fourth-round pick in Sunday's draft.

The 25 who gathered for Rivera's retirement also said their goodbyes to Fasano during dinner at AGO restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Later, they headed for the gaming tables, where Jessica won about $5,000. Romo and Simpson called it a night when the party moved to Body English nightclub about 2 a.m.

They spent the afternoon in a VIP cabana at the Hard Rock pool, watching the NFL draft poolside.
