Chicago pizza a popular subject
March 21, 2012 - 1:02 am
As was the case with our reader recommendations for New York pizza, I knew our March 7 suggestions for Chicago-style pizza for Lori Keach Clayton would bring on a raft of others. And here they are:
Mitch Bulinski and Joe Signore recommended La Piazza at the Best Western at 1000 N. Main St., (with Bulinski noting that the owner is from Chicago); former Chicagoans Joe and Bunnie Guanci recommended Maciano's Pizza & Pasta at 5651 Grand Canyon Drive, and they and Terri Pastorelli recommended Amore Taste of Chicago at 3945 S. Durango Drive. ...
For Jean Jennings, who's looking for grain pie for Easter, Michele Bonelli recommended Cugino's, 4550 S. Maryland Parkway, adding, "Call to make sure it is available." ...
For Bruce Richardson, who's looking for Nathan's Kosher Dill Spears, Jeanne Davis, Dan Renga and Karen Langbert found them at Glazier's Food Marketplace, 8525 W. Warm Springs Road, and Colleen Sams saw them at Albertsons at 2650 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson. ...
For Jeanne Hanna, who's looking for huckleberry jam, Y. Whipple recommended The Tourist Trap at 145 S. Moapa Valley Blvd. in Overton, and Jim Guynup found it at "the gift shop that is on the left side of the road as you enter Zion National Park." ...
For Dave Reynard, who's looking for New York-style chow mein, Mamie Glorioso recommended N.Y. Chinese Restaurant at 9430 W. Lake Mead Blvd., adding, "You must ask for New York chow mein or New York chicken chow mein, over white rice." ...
More on fried clam strips: Karen Lotspiech recommended East Coast Eats at 50 N. Valle Verde Drive in Henderson. ...
