Costco stocks shrimp wontons

Most of the products that have been sought by Taste of the Town readers over the years have been, it seems, favorites remembered from childhood, or foods that are somewhat obscure, in the scheme of things. Tony Padilla, however, is looking for a favorite convenience food -- CP Shrimp Wontons, frozen with noodles and sauce -- and fellow readers know where to find it.

Karen Smee, Willa Rolfes and Candy Bakko all spotted the wontons at Costco. Bakko added that she's trying to find the wontons without noodles; she used to find those at the same Costco. ...

For readers who have been trying to find frozen bialys, Pearl Prunetta emailed that they're available in the deli department at Glazier's Food Marketplace at 8525 W. Warm Springs Road. And Laurel and Nick Mascolo reported finding an extensive line of Stella D'Oro treats at Glazier's. ...

More on fresh herbs: Pat Ferrell emailed that a good source is Food 4 Less stores, where the fresh bunches are 99 cents each. ...

More on gizzards: Erin Paddock emailed that her new spot, Erin's The Grille Next Door, 2333 N. Jones Blvd. (at Smoke Ranch Road), serves them from 4 to 11 p.m. Sundays (or while they last) and that she learned to make them from the owners of the much-missed Green Shack on Boulder Highway. Paddock added that every Thursday is Buffalo Night, with Sahlen's hot dogs with Weber's toppings, beef on weck and Buffalo wings. ...
