Sometimes an elusive food item is easier to find in Las Vegas if you can narrow the search. Readers offer several options for Barbara Candler, who is looking for shrimp egg foo young (with shrimp in the patty, not just on the side). David Pearlstein recommended Bobo China at 8465 W. Sahara Ave., Len Granick recommended China Mama at 3420 S. Jones Blvd., Caron Raber suggested China Garden at 2263 S. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson, Mara Willick and Cathy Brown recommended China A Go Go, which has several locations in the valley, and Glenn Barrett said he likes it at the Teriyaki Co. at 719 N. Nellis Blvd., though he said it's not on the menu. ...
For Carl Limberg and others looking for restaurants that serve breaded pork tenderloin, Randi Youngberg and Marsha Thrash recommended Hash House A Go Go, which has several locations in the valley; Thrash also recommended Winchell's Pub, which also has several locations, noting that she gets it at the one at 10620 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson; Janet Tonelli suggested AP Grill & Tavern, 1231 American Pacific Drive in Henderson; and Catherine Pawelek, co-owner of Elements Kitchen & Martini Bar at 4950 S. Rainbow Blvd., said they alternate between a breaded pork tenderloin and a breaded pork chop. ...
For Bill Ruskin, Diane Smart emailed that she has found Dave's Insanity at various Smith's and Albertsons stores in the Summerlin area, and Gary Robinson recommended www.EatHot.com (800-505-9999) or www.SweatNSpice.com (973-276-5020). ...
For Judy Gallegos, who's looking for black-walnut ice cream, Erma Roberts emailed that she finds it at Smith's at 5564 Camino al Norte in North Las Vegas, and Jack Bender recommended www.Schwans.com (888-724-9267), which has a home-delivery service. ...
More on desserts with no added sugar: Pawelek said Elements serves one daily, and that their regular desserts are made with less white sugar than usually is the case. ...
More reader requests: Youngberg: Little Juan or Marquez beef and potato burritos;
Claudette Dorian: a local source for huckleberry ice cream;
Allan Sheffield: Earl Campbell Hot Links;
Dean B. Pomerantz: deep-fried chicken livers;
Fred Spoerl: a local source for Denver-style wet burritos, with pork and green-chili sauce, not tomatillo sauce;
Chuck Edgerly: Hormel boneless pigs' feet, and pigs' knuckles in a gallon container;
David Holm: Skippy Honey Nut Peanut Butter, crunchy variety, and Silver Floss sauerkraut in a can;
And Cynthia Coletti: places that make great chocolate malts.
