Readers shed light on chocolate raisins

Dark chocolate seems to be becoming more popular these days, though whether from a flavor aspect or because of perceived health benefits, I'm not sure. But at any rate, three readers have found the dark-chocolate-covered raisins sought by Stephanie Wilson. Marlene Novick and Toby Spiegel e-mailed to say they can be found at Trader Joe's (with Novick adding, "but please save some for my husband"), which has four stores in the valley, and Novick also suggested Whole Foods Market, which is at 100 Green Valley Parkway in Henderson and 8855 W. Charleston Blvd. And Abby Smith suggested See's Candies, which has five stores in the area. ...

For Helen Hatcher, who's looking for old-fashioned chow mein with crisp noodles, Carol Keenan e-mailed that she gets it at Pumi Oriental Restaurant at 239 N. Pecos Road in Henderson (there's another Pumi at 9026 W. Sahara Ave.), adding, "when I order it I always tell them I want the crunchy noodles, so I don't know how it is served if you don't specify. I also order the noodles on the side, so I can add as I wish; that way they stay crunchy." And I'm thinking you may want to see if your favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant will do the same. ...
