Readers spot Italian sausage and eggs

Joe Darro's request was one of those Taste of the Town "Huh?" moments for me.

Italian sausage and eggs? Yeah, I guess that sounds good. And yeah, now that I think of it, I've never seen it on a menu.

But luckily, sharp-eyed Taste of the Town readers had.

Karen Mallory reported that the Black Bear Diner at 6180 W. Tropicana Ave. serves "very fresh and very tasty" housemade Italian sausage patties with eggs, Mary Anne Taglia said it's served at the Bootlegger Bistro at 7700 Las Vegas Blvd. South and Cecilia Peluso recommended the egg and sausage calzone on the Sunday buffet at the Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd., adding, "It's worth going just for that." ...

For Tom Zwick, who's looking for pork green chili in the style of Pueblo, Colo., Nicholas Capra emailed that the version served at Carlito's Burritos at 3345 E. Patrick Lane, a New Mexican restaurant, "is exactly what Coloradans are also used to," and Taglia said pork chili verde is served at the Coffee Cup at 512 Nevada Highway in Boulder City. ...

For Bruce and Carol Baird, who are looking for Tex-Mex (not Mexican) restaurants, Cathy Nelson also suggested Carlito's Burritos. ...

For Roger J. Henning, who's looking for a local source for the German Christmas cookie Pfeffernuesse, Pam Crawford and Susan Kallen spotted them at Trader Joe's, and Annemarie Kubicek and Catherine Pawelek reported finding them at the International Marketplace, 5000 S. Decatur Blvd., with Pawelek adding that the store also carries the Dutch Pepernoten or Kruidnoten. ...

Here are more reader requests.
