Taste of the Town: Readers come through with broasted chicken sites

For Carole LaRocca, who’s looking for broasted chicken on the east side of the valley, we’ve got nothin’ beyond the previously reported Chilly Jilly’z at 1680 Nevada Highway in Boulder City, which is south, but also sort of east. But for other searchers, Roberta Shulman and Evelyn Laurie reported that the St. Tropez Buffet at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive, serves broasted chicken.

And Dale Porray did some research on the Broaster Co.’s website. Some of the information was out of date, but I did confirm that it’s available at Hamburger Hut at 2512 E. Cheyenne Ave. in North Las Vegas. The site also lists Pat’s Food &Mini Mart — a Las Vegas institution — at 1451 W. Owens Ave., although I couldn’t reach anybody there for confirmation. …

For Barbara Tedder, who’s looking for fish and chips in Henderson, William Isaac recommended East Coast Eats at 50 N. Valle Verde Drive, and Alan Stock recommended King’s Fish House in The District at Green Valley Ranch at 2255 Village Walk Drive. …

For Tom Fitzgerald, who’s looking for raw bran flakes, Diana Tinkley wrote that they can be found in bulk at Whole Foods Market, which has four stores in the valley, and at Sprouts Farmer’s Market, which has stores at 3365 E. Tropicana Ave. and 4020 S. Rainbow Blvd. (along with two coming-soon locations in Henderson and one in Summerlin). She said packaged bran such as Bob’s Red Mill and Hodgson Mill can usually be found at Albertsons and Smith’s stores. …

For Vern Padgett, Gabrielle Samols emailed that Tim Tams Australian cookies are sometimes available at the International Marketplace at 5000 S. Decatur Blvd. …

For Betty Doughty, Ann Brown faxed that rye flour is available at Sprouts. …

Even more on liver and onions: Isaac said the Coronado Cafe at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, serves it for $10.99. …

More on pretzel rolls: Isaac also said pretzel rolls are available at Vons. …

More on Chili Man chili starter: Brown faxed that it’s available at Glazier’s Food Marketplace, 8525 W. Warm Springs Road.
