And it's a little late for this year -- since Mardi Gras was Tuesday -- but we did get some tips on local sources for king cakes. Joni Akselraf recommended Bread and Butter at 10940 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson, which she said carries other New Orleans treats; she suggested calling ahead at 675-3300 to order. And LaMonte Woods recommended Dainty Cakes at 2708 N. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson.
