A conversation with Las Vegas singer Skye Dee Miles

Updated August 29, 2020 - 10:54 am

Review-Journal man-about-town columnist John Katsilometes interviews singer Skye Dee Miles at Rose. Rabbit. Lie. supper club at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Miles and Savannah Lynx head up the Rose. Rabbit. Lie. dinner entertainment presentation on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It remains one of the few live-entertainment options on the Strip.

Miles arrived in Las Vegas to co-star in “Menopause The Musical” at Shimmer Cabaret at Las Vegas Hilton (now Westgate Cabaret) in 2006. She has since headlined with her Skye 5 band at the Tropicana, and has performed at 1923 Prohibition Bar (formerly 1923 Bourbon & Burlesque) at Mandalay Bay. She’s been at RRL since 2014.

Miles says the “E” in her first name stands for “extra everything.” She’s adopted the nickname “Black Sunshine” after a patron at the Trop, who was a Texas gentlemen with a Southern accent, told her, “Honey, you’re like black sunshine.”

“I said, ‘Oooh, I like that,’” Miles said. “The more I though about my personality and what I do, I’m always trying to bring some light, some joy and some happiness.”
