Christina Aguilera set for Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood

“Christina Aguilera: The Xperience” is the next headlining production at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. The show, teased to on Monday, opens May 31. The show runs 16 dates through Oct. 5 (tickets start at $60, minus fees, and are onsale 10 a.m. Saturday at ticketmaster.com).

“The Xperience is going to be my most ambitious show yet. Getting to perform in this adult playground we call Las Vegas is inspiring me to bring forth all of my talents in a mind-blowing theatrical experience – song, dance, visuals and uninterrupted high energy,” Aguilera said in a statement Tuesday morning. “For years I have been collecting ideas and concepts that have yet to be implemented on my stages, and Las Vegas is the perfect opportunity for me to collectively showcase my artistry. I cannot wait to bring you into ‘The Xperience.’”

“Christina is a powerhouse artist whose voice and music has transcended generations of fans,” said Jason Gastwirth, president of entertainment at Caesars Entertainment. “We are proud Christina will call Planet Hollywood home and wow audiences in the intimate Zappos Theater.”

Aguilera impressed Caesars resort execs with her headlining appearance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Oct. 27. She is set to enter into a headlining rotation with Gwen Stefani’s “Just A Girl” production, and open a little more than a month after the Backstreet Boys close their extended engagement after a two-year run on April 27.
