The post on Kris Bryant’s Instagram page said it all:
“Mr & Mrs. Bryant!”
The Chicago Cubs star wed his longtime girlfriend, Jessica Delp, on Saturday. The location of the nuptials was not immediately apparent, but the couple looked dazzling and very happy.
The couple have dated for eight years (or, since both were age 16), and were engaged in December. Over the summer, they posed for a series of engagement photos at Wrigley Field, each wearing Cubs home jerseys. One of the Bryant’s groomsmen was Cubs teammate Anthony Rizzo.
Bryant turned 25 on Wednesday, and posted a photo of his birthday cake (reading, fittingly, “Happy 25th Birthday Kris!”) on Instagram, with the message, “Planning a wedding and moving in to a new house, yet she still finds time to surprise me with an awesome cake! @Jessica_delp is a keeper!”
Having recorded the final out of the Cubs’ first World Series championship since 1908, Bryant was named 2016 National League Most Valuable Player, and was the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year.
