Fontainebleau signs ‘once in a generation talent’ to residency deal
Fontainebleau’s nightlife venues picked up great get.
We talk of David Guetta, the Grammy Award-winning DJ and frequent Vegas club and festival star, who has signed a two-year residency with LIV Nightclub and LIV Beach. The exclusive residency partnership runs 2025-26 and applies to Fontainebleau’s Las Vegas and Miami Beach resorts. Dates for Guetta’s LIV and LIV Beach shows are to be announced soon.
“David is a once-in-a-generation talent who embodies the charisma and class that defines the Fontainebleau brand,” Fontainebleau Development Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Soffer said in a statement. “He’s a natural fit for the luxury lifestyle and vibrant energy of LIV and LIV Beach, and his presence underscores Fontainebleau’s status as a global entertainment destination featuring the artists that audiences want to see.”

Guetta has headlined Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Wynn’s XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club, among other Vegas performance venues.
“I’m so grateful to Jeff Soffer for giving me a stage to do what I love for the greatest fans in the world,” says Guetta. “I get excited every time I’m about to perform at LIV in Miami, and now I cannot wait to start a fresh chapter at LIV Las Vegas inside the Strip’s newest luxury resort. David Grutman and Groot Hospitality books LIV for the Fontainebleau and brought Guetta to the fore. As the hospitality vet said, “LIV is known as the stage for the top DJs and performers. David Guetta’s international reach elevates that stage to new heights.”

More ‘MJ,’ you say?
“MJ Live,” the long-running Michael Jackson tribute, has been extended at Sahara Theater. The show closed at Tropicana Theater in February, will run through Oct. 31. The production opened in March, and was originally scheduled to run at the hotel through the end of July.
That theater is a source of curiosity. An acrobatic-comedy-variety show, seemingly in the Spiegelworld vibe, had been auditioning with plans to move in. No word yet on what the extended forecast is for the venue.
The popular production is a partnership between Vegas entertainment veteran Dick Feeney’s TPR Entertainment (“The Rat Pack is Back” at Tuscany Suites) and Darin Feinstein, whose Red Mercury company is also the majority investor in “Jersey Boys” at Orleans Showroom.
“MJ Live” has performed more than 3,600 shows since opening at the Rio in 2012. The show also had a run at The Strat Showroom before moving to the Trop in 2022.
What Works in Vegas
“Harana: An East Meets West Live Experience.” concert of primarily artists from the Philippines drew 2,560 to The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. That’s a strong box-office showing for a first-time, off-Strip show. The Filipino community, especially, turned out for this one.
The all-star production has been invited back, says co-producer and trumpet star Danny Falcone. It’ll be maybe six months, with plans to take the concept on the road.
Co-producer Peter Ferguson and music director Troy Laureta delivered an excessively talented, highly fulfilling production led by Martin Nievera, known for his years in Vegas with Society of Seven. The show was stacked with vocalists Loren Allred, Pia Toscano, Morissette Amon, Wendy Moten, Josefina Silveyra and Dessa Salazar, R&B headliner Jay-R, and sax great Justin Klunk. The Fat City Horns of Santa Fe fame and Ariana Grande’s rhythm section was the house band. It killed.
Cool Hang Alert
A biggie: The DjangoVegas Music Festival runs from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday at Historic Fifth Street School at 401. S. Fourth Street (yes, Fifth Street School’s address is Fourth Street, but you can’t miss it).
Guitar master Mundo Juillerat heads up the programming and leads the Hot Club of Las Vegas, featuring Frankie Moreno on vocals/piano, Tyler Williams on bass, Alex Stopa on drums and Matt Codina on rhythm guitar.
The John Jorgenson Quintet co-headlines. Jorgenson is a guitar great who has played with Elton John for six years, recorded with Bob Dylan, Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel and Barbra Streisand.
