Updated August 7, 2023 - 2:47 pm

Krystal Allan says, “Sometimes you just know,” when to make a change.

Allan knew it was her time, as her contract with the KSNV Channel 3 station had ended. The popular newscaster has left the station after a 12-year career.

“I am ready to spread my wings, without being cliche,” Allan said Monday, having ended her time with the NBC affiliate on Friday. “I can take some of these skills I’ve developed over the years and have some success.”

Allan mentioned such voice-over work as audio books, announcing at live events, even recording her voice for meditation platforms.

“I don’t see myself going to another station and doing more news,” she said. “Through News 3, I was blessed to have a platform to serve this community, develop meaningful relationships and gain lifelong friends.:

Allan had hosted the noon newscast on News 3 and also the “Wake Up With the CW” morning broadcast. Allan started at the station in March 2011,

I’d just gotten to know Allan over the past several months on appearances on the station. She is a wonderful person and talent I’ll always fondly remember our Friday morning chats, marveling at her spirit in that early segment. A final fist-bump to her.

Allan’s departure is among a series of changes at the Sinclair-owned station, a Las Vegas NBC affiliate, this year. In May, Stephanie Wheatley left her post as news director at Channel 3. In June, the station unveiled a new Sky 3 helicopter.
