Food, music festival to honor veterans
"America the Beautiful," a Veterans Day food and music festival, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Clark County Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
Entertainment will include Purple Reign, Paul Epic, Dirty Penny, the Goodfellas Band, Carla Cook and Johnny Cash and Billy Joel tribute bands.
More than 40 food and merchandise vendors will participate. Family activities will include carnival games, face and body painting, a rock climbing wall and glass blowing demonstrations.
Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children ages 2 to 12. All active duty and veterans of military, police and fire rescue will be admitted for free.

Veterans dinner dance set for Saturday
A dinner dance to honor veterans is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.
The evening will feature a catered buffet dinner and music by Gene White's Big Band.
Evening attire or dress uniform is recommended.
Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased in advance.
