Workshop to teach kids how to clown

Children ages 10 to 18 can take a journey of self-discovery and expression in a clown college workshop, "In the Spirit of ... Yes I Can," beginning at noon Saturday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

Danise Payne, who has been a clown with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus and UniverSoul Big Top Circus, will lead the workshop.

The fee is $5 per person, and reservations are required. For more information, call 229-4800.

Pianist Wes Winters to play his favorites

The Performing Arts Society of Nevada's Brown Bag Concerts will present "Wes Winters Plays For You" at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Clark County Library Main Theatre, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Pianist Winters will play and sing his favorite selections, including "Phantom of the Opera Medley," "Theme from Exodus," "Louisiana Saturday Night," "Goin' to Kansas City," "I Can't Smile Without You," "Time to Say Goodbye" and "Without a Song," as well as "Send in the Clowns" with guest Joseph Gabriel and his clown marionette.
