What: “Ender’s Game”

The story: A shy boy (Butterfield) enrolls in Battle School as humanity’s next great hope to fight off a hostile alien race known as the Formics in this adaptation of the sprawling series of novels and short stories by Orson Scott Card.
The buzz: Card isn’t involved in the movie, but he’s drawing negative attention to it nonetheless because of his outspoken views against gay marriage. Still, the sight of Ford in outer space should be enough to satiate fanboys until the arrival of those “Star Wars” sequels.
