Here’s a glimpse of ‘Twin Peaks’ — VIDEO

LOS ANGELES — While there's no coffee, pies or red rooms, Showtime's teaser for its "Twin Peaks" update does promote a a few things that fans of the original ABC series will recognize.

Amid sweeping aerial shots of the misty Pacific Northwest locale, the audio soon picks up to the familiarly eerie score by Angelo Badalamenti. And then there's that welcome sign with the population number that probably needs to be changed.

"Location sometimes becomes a character ... can't put my finger on how I would describe it. It just touches something in the psyche. It's almost like being in a moving painting," actor Michael Horse, who played Deputy Hawk in the series, says in this teaser.

After some very public delays, "Twin Peaks" is currently in production and will air in 2017 on Showtime. It is written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost and is directed entirely by Lynch.

While Showtime has been cagey on confirming cast and plot details, it is also known that Kyle MacLachlan will be back in his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper. Rumored new cast members include Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Jason Leigh. "Public Morals" actor Robert Knepper is also set to appear.
