The first salvo in this summer’s Battle of the Box Office arrived last week, with “Thor” leading the charge. Next weekend, Capt. Jack Sparrow sets sail once again in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” leading an armada of sequels, remakes, comic-book adaptations and other potential crowd-pleasers fighting for multiplex supremacy.
To 3-D or not to 3-D. For moviemakers — and moviegoers — it’s not much of a question anymore, not with almost three dozen 3-D movies scheduled for release in 2011.
