‘Rio’ a new 3-D animated adventure

The story: A domesticated macaw from Minnesota hits the road -- make that the skies -- by flying down to Rio de Janeiro.
The buzz: This new 3-D animated adventure has a definite "Ice Age" connection; director Saldanha co-directed "Ice Age" (and "Robots") before soloing on the two "Ice Age" sequels. But he also lends his voice to a supporting character. As for the major characters, video game players may already know them, thanks to their appearance in the "Rio" edition of "Angry Birds."
