A look at some of the DVDs, CDs and books hitting stores this week:

DVDs

"The Amazing Spider-Man" (PG-13): A teenage Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) falls for Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and battles his father's former partner (Rhys Ifans) and his alter-ego, The Lizard, in this franchise reboot.

Elsewhere, still grieving from his brother's death, a man (Mark Duplass) seeks refuge in his best friend's (Emily Blunt) family cabin, only to have an awkward sexual encounter with her sister (Rosemarie Dewitt) in "Your Sister's Sister" (R). And Christmas has an unlikely hero in the an animated family tale "Arthur Christmas" (PG).

Topping today's TV transfers: "American Restoration: Volume Two," "Law & Order: The Eleventh Year," "Call the Midwife: Season One," "Wolf Lake: The Complete Series" and "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams: Season One."

CDs

Ne-Yo, "R.E.D.": Do Ne-Yo and Taylor Swift have a beef?

We're not trying to start anything here - OK, yes we are - but both have a new album out titled "Red."

The difference?

Ne-Yo's is an acronym for "Realize Every Dream," which is precisely what the former Las Vegas resident seems to be doing these days as one of R&B's hottest acts.

"Poseidon's Arrow" by Clive Cussler and Dirk Cussler: National Underwater and Marine Agency director Dirk Pitt, joined by his children, must recover a stolen key component of an attack submarine prototype while at the same time figure out why ships have begun to disappear in the middle of the ocean.

On the nonfiction front, Kirstie Alley writes about the men who have influenced her, for better or worse, in "The Art of Men (I Prefer Mine Al Dente)."
