5 most memorable moments from this year’s VMAs — VIDEO

If you missed the MTV Music Video Awards on Sunday night, don't fear, as the night's winners were no surprise to many and Miley Cyrus' hosting was almost what you would expect from the eccentric pop star. Following a trend of the last few years, the show didn't go on without surprises and, at times, uncomfortable moments.

Here are the five most memorable moments from the VMAs:

Nicki Minaj vs. Miley Cyrus

Fake or not, one of the most talked about moments from Sunday night revolved around a possible feud between host Miley Cyrus and fellow singer Nicki Minaj. Earlier in the week, Cyrus had told the New York Times Minaj was "not too kind," in reference to a since-ended Twitter feud between the "Anaconda" rapper and singer Taylor Swift. Minaj took her time on stage on Sunday to air her concerns with Cyrus, saying "Now, back to this b---h that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what's good?"

The VMA host was seen with her jaw dropped at the remark, but responded by mentioning how interviews can be manipulated before adding, "Nicki, congratu- f-----g -lations."

Check it out below.

Justin Bieber cries on stage

In what many on Monday are calling a "comeback" for the embattled pop star, the 21-year-old performed at the awards for the first time in five years. After his first song, he relayed a message to the crowd about needing to pick yourself up after a fall and once he hit the stage again, he appeared to be sobbing. The response to his return online has been mostly positive.

Kanye West announces he's running for president

Whether he meant it or not, West concluded a heartfelt acceptance speech with an announcement that he will be running for president in five years

"I don't know what I finna lose after this. It don't matter, though; It's not about me. It's about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth," West said. "And yes, as you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president."

Amber Rose and Blac Chyna's coordinated outfits

Rose, a hip hop artist and model, coordinated outfits (already hitting the worst-dressed lists) with good friend Blac Chyna that were colorful in the literal sense as well as the language. The jumpsuit and matching dress were covered in derogatory language including "whore" and "b---h." The two were accompanied by Rose's entourage sporting outfits covered in a well-known slur for gay men.

The outfits had to do with Rose's involvement in Slut Walk L.A., an event focused on gender inequality and victim blaming.

Taylor Swift and Kanye West become friends

Now known as one of the most iconic moments of the Video Music Awards, West and Swift became acquainted in 2009 when West interrupted Swift's award speech to say Beyonce's video was more worthy of the award. This year, Swift presented West with the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and she even made a joke about their first interaction.

"To all the other winners tonight, I'm really happy for you, and I'mma let you finish, but Kanye West has had one of the greatest careers of all-time," Swift shouted.

*Bonus: Miley Cyrus hands a joint to the press

On her way out of the show, Cyrus, who had changed nearly two dozen times in the night, arrived at the post-show press room in a pink latex costume reading "DO IT." Cyrus then grabbed a microphone and told a group of photographers, "Because you're all my friends and my song is kind of, sort of about the love of marijuana, slash, the love of human kind, I brought a little joint if anyone would like any," before handing off what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette.
