Alan Parsons Live Project coming to Boulder Station
March 2, 2012 - 1:59 am
Who knew that Abbey Road studio engineers were such rock stars?
Legendary sound man Geoff Emerick took a wave from behind the soundboards at Cheap Trick's "Sgt. Pepper Live" shows of 2010. But he's still a long way away from the recognition level of Alan Parsons.
Parsons worked on some legendary Beatles and Pink Floyd recordings before the producer became so unlikely a performer that he did not even perform during the peak selling years of lush concept albums such as "I Robot" and "Pyramid."
Making up for lost time, he has become a perennial on the casino circuit, touring with small bands packing digital power to reproduce the Chicago Bulls' theme "Sirius" or the Lady Antebellum-inspiring "Eye in the Sky."
