Eagles flying back into town

For reasons still unexplained, the Eagles booked two dates as a group amid a season of separate touring for Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt. Perhaps it makes sense then, that the first of the two MGM Grand arena shows was heavy on the solo stuff.

Walsh dominated the set with five hits from his solo career (if you count his work with the James Gang). Henley had two. Glenn Frey had none. This could cause the band to break up or something.

For now, you can see them at 8 p.m. Saturday in the MGM Grand Garden arena, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $76.25-$218; call 891-7777.
