Get footloose with Kenny Loggins at Cannery

No need to wait until the remake hits theaters Oct. 14 to hear "Footloose," and no need to fight traffic on the Strip to hear it this weekend.

Kenny Loggins is no stranger to these parts, but this time he's shaking up the format. He's billed solo to avoid confusion, but the show is broken into two parts. The first is with his new trio Blue Sky Riders, in which he gives equal ranking to Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman. Then he comes back to do the hits.

It's been announced that Blake Shelton will cover the "Footloose" theme for the movie remake. "I remember I went through a long period of time when 'Footloose' was not cool, because the groove of it was so different than what was fashionable," Loggins noted of the classic theme song a couple of years ago.

He sings at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the Club at the Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road. Tickets are $30.45-$72.25; call 507-5757.
