Get ready for Imagine REO Speedragons on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’
Following in the grand tradition of the pairing of Kenny G and Warren G and combining Weezer and ZZ Top to form Wee-Z Top, Las Vegas rockers Imagine Dragons will join forces with REO Speedwagon for Monday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (11:35 p.m., KTNV-TV, Channel 13).
The resulting supergroup, Imagine REO Speedragons, will perform “a secret hit track” as part of the show’s “Mash Up Mondays.”
“Imagine REO Speedragons was destined to happen since the day Zeus thrust his mighty bolt to the Earth,” Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds said in a press release.
“I talked to Wayne from Imagine Dragons yesterday,” REO Speedwagons’ Kevin Cronin added, “and both our bands are totally psyched about doing the ‘Mash Up Monday.’ We all love Jimmy, and we’re gonna play one of our favorites like it’s never been played before.”
