Get rowdy with Hank Williams Jr.

The first tune on Hank Williams Jr.'s new disc, "Old School New Rules," is called "Takin' Back the Country," and we kind of wish the dude would do just that.

Now, by "country," we're talking about the music, not the land in which we live.

We don't care to hear Williams opine about politics - referencing livestock dung, as he does on "Cow Turd Blues," is more of his speed - but we do like it when he rips out raucous honky tonk hell-raisers like "I'm Gonna Get Drunk and Play Hank Williams."

Both those songs enable "Old School" to live to up its name, as does album closer "I Think I'll Just Stay Here and Drink," a duet with Merle Haggard where the two go together like whiskey and a Saturday night.
