He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister singing ‘flamboyant folk’
Peppered with hand claps, harmonica and honeysuckle boy-girl harmonies, the doe-eyed, co-ed pop of He's My Brother, She's My Sister is almost as idyllic and inviting as the beaches of their native California.
They've coined a bunch of descriptors for their lush, lively jams: "flamboyant folk," "glam-a-billy," "circus rock," "vaudeville pop," "cabaret blues," among them.
The group cites The Mamas and The Papas as an influence, but you don't need to be told as much after sampling their sun-kissed catalog, where they weather heartache and hangovers, love and loss with an insistence that nothing sidetrack their fun.
