Ingrid Michaelson to fill House of Blues with intimate sounds

Ingrid Michaelson’s soccer-ball heart has been kicked around plenty.

But the 34-year-old singer-songwriter with the pillow-soft voice mostly remains upbeat on her latest record, “Lights Out.”

“Let’s not make it harder than it has to be,” she sings on breezy breakup song “Girls Chase Boys.” “I’m a little bit down, but I’m not dead.”

For six albums now, Michaelson’s intimate-sounding, hang-in-there pop has served as a reassuring hand on the shoulder of her listeners.

Her message: Lovers may come and go, but her songs will always be there for you.
