Jimmy Buffett wastin’ away at MGM Grand

Celine may be the queen of Vegas for about 70 nights each year. But Jimmy Buffett rules the Strip with a year-round presence.

The 64-year-old, who turned a modest run of pleasant '70s -soft rock hits into a major lifestyle brand, is big enough to serve both of the Strip's major casino companies. The Margaritaville restaurant at the Flamingo recently expanded into a 15,000-square-foot casino area.

But the man himself continues his fall tradition of playing two arena concerts at the MGM Grand Garden a week apart: Saturday and again Oct. 22.

Pace yourself with that Margaritaville brand tequila for the 8 p.m. show at 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $72.25-$219; call 891-7777.
