Kraftwerk show at Cosmo to be 3-D experience

Robot pop is coming to Vegas.

In 3-D.

Electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk have announced that they will be performing at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on June 28.

The show will feature 3-D visuals and will be a full-on multimedia experience, with surround-sound speakers and 3-D glasses provided to concertgoers upon entering the venue.

Founded in 1970, the German collective is one of the cornerstone acts of electronic-based music, having set the table for the DJ-producers who now dominate Las Vegas nightclubs more than four decades ago.

In a recent review of Kraftwerk’s current tour, New York Times critic Jon Pareles described the set-up of the show: “As the band played its songs — or generated them, since it was impossible to tell how much was live — larger-than-life three-dimensional projections towered over the stage and moved into the audience.”

Tickets for Kraftwerk’s Las Vegas show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
