Misfits bring horror punk to House of Blues

Halloween is fast approaching with some even faster jams about brain eaters and teenagers from Mars. Of course The Misfits are touring this time of year, as their hook-heavy horror punk is the soundtrack of the season.

This go-round, the band is supporting a new record, "The Devil's Rain," its first album of all-original material this century, with plenty of Cheetah-fast rippers about serial killers and famous monsters. Frankenstein won't die, and neither will these dudes.

See The Misfits at 6 p.m. Thursday at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $31 in advance, $35 day of show; call 632-7600.
