Shack Shakers shake stage with harmonica

J.D. Wilkes will sing of sin and redemption, of men with coal-black hearts doing bad things and eventually getting what's coming to them, and then, without pause, he'll give maniacal voice to a Slim Harpo tune meant to catalyze the shaking of hips.

As the powder keg frontman for the Legendary Shack Shakers, Wilkes presides over a particularly fierce and freewheeling brand of amped-up Americana, with lots of lickety-split banjo and harmonica playing pushing nearly every tune to heart-palpitating levels.

They've toured with acts as diverse as Rancid and Robert Plant, fit for just about any stage that needs a good shaking.
